How about with some history? Here are the facts (as far as I know or can find them):
Before 1828, abortion was permissible in the U.S. up until the movements of the fetus could be felt. By 1900, it was illegal across the country. We have the second-wave feminists of the 1960s to thank for the legalization of abortion under extreme circumstances such as rape, incest, or danger to the mother’s life, and by 1970, abortion was not only legal but widely available in New York, California, Washington, Alaska, and Hawaii.
